Abbey is definately one of the most placid babies I have ever had the pleasure to photograph! She is a true sweetheart

And it is not everyday we get the chance to put a baby in log

And we made a baby Hammock :)

Abbey is going to be a regular kids clubber, so I am looking fowards to photographing her journey through her first few years and beyond

Amy & Cameron: Gardens Wedding

Cameron and Amy were married on October 3rd at the Gardens. Amy looked absolutely gorgeous.
Take a look a at a few of my favourite shots from their day

Photobucket

The Gardens provide a really versatile location for weddings.

I love this shot of Cameron and Amy and it sums up their day. We found this lovely light as we strolled through the gardens, and I think it has worked well. I think this will be a treasured memory.

Something fun and romantic

Just when we were going to pack it in for the day, I changed my mind on the journey back... Completely annoying I am :D but, hey, this was worth it.. the beer can wait just a little longer :)

Jade and Andy and their love for Heron Island

It was really odd for me not meeting my wedding clients until the day before the wedding, but Heron Island weddings will generally be couples who live nowhere near gladstone, so all the communication prior is phone and email.

Jade and Andy have a special link with Heron Island, as this is where it all began for them. You could tell they had a bond with the island. and most definately with one another. They had many friends and family join them for their special day.

Jade and Andy were super relaxed, and their wedding was just beautiful, not because it was on Heron Island, but because, they were not caught up in the little wedding day things, they were only concerned with what is most important on the wedding day... each other. They are fun people, and so it was only natural that they should have wedding pics.

Here are a few of my favs from the day

above: Their two year old son Baileywas not long up from a nap when sam & I arrived, I loved his yawn! Oblivious to exactly whats happening, he didnt resist one bit when Andy started to dress him... and who could resist those GORGEOUS eyes of his??

above: Jade getting the rings from Bailey - I need to say at this point, while Bailey did an extraordinary job, at one stage I went from being photographer to ring bearer, after Baily undid the ties on the ring cushion and wedding rings went flying!

And the best light of the day. I think a walking on the jetty and silhoutte shots are a must on Heron :)

TO Jade and Andy, all the very best for your life together and thank you again for having me be there for your day. It was an absolute pleasure to be apart of

And my relationship with Heron is shaping up to be a good one also, I will be back on the 17th of this month for Heather and Darcys wedding, and I am, very much looking forwards to it

Enjoy!

Heron Island... cant believe its just on our doorstep

Well I am actually nowhere near finished going through my heron island pics - and I am about half-way through Jade & Andys wedding pics, but, I wanted to share these few with you all

I have lived in Gladstone for 7 years. I have never been to Heron Island, even though it is a 20 minute chopper flight away.

I have a few Heron Island weddings booked, so I was really quite excited to go over a day early so I could become familiar with the island before the big day. On the same note, I took Sam with me so that she could also get familiar, so that if either of us were to book weddings over there (which would be solo events) we were comfortable with everything.

So while we were there - both coping with MAJOR sunburn (we thought we would be seasick on the way over, so the back deck was a good idea, fresh air an all) Nope. We got ended up with arms so red I cant even explain, we both looked like rudolph and cool sunglass tan to boot.

But obviously we were there for photographic research ;P so we spent out first sunset fooling around and getting some shots (after a swim in that amazing clear water - fair is fair)

Here is a few that I like so far

Gaige

Rebecca & Roy came into the studio with daughter Akira and their 6 week old daughter Gaige. Gaige was not having a good day at all, she was extremely upset and cried for about 95% of the time they were with me. Which meant, when she stopped, I had to be quick!

Working with Babies is always unpredictable and you need to be on your toes. But getting the moments is easy because babies are so pure. You don't have to contend with overworked smiles or anything like that, you get what they give you, which is always gorgeous

Kaliyah kids club

I hope I spelled Kaliyah's name right first off!
So the 411 on Kaliyah is, she gives goofy smiles, which is incredibly cute, but mum Taren was hoping for something just a little more natural. Kids often have the smile for the camera face and its always not the natural look that parents always want to capture.

Kaliyah was more than happy to do as she was asked, and I put her where I wanted her and let her do her thing. This little girl has the most amazing eyes you have seen. The sizing here may not allow you to see, but, I can clearly see myself, the Japanese tea house and the pond at the gardens on my 30inch cinema display, it is quite amazing!

Anyway, please enjoy a few of my favs of this gorgeous little girl with the beautiful eyes :)
