Well I am actually nowhere near finished going through my heron island pics - and I am about half-way through Jade & Andys wedding pics, but, I wanted to share these few with you all
I have lived in Gladstone for 7 years. I have never been to Heron Island, even though it is a 20 minute chopper flight away.
I have a few Heron Island weddings booked, so I was really quite excited to go over a day early so I could become familiar with the island before the big day. On the same note, I took Sam with me so that she could also get familiar, so that if either of us were to book weddings over there (which would be solo events) we were comfortable with everything.
So while we were there - both coping with MAJOR sunburn (we thought we would be seasick on the way over, so the back deck was a good idea, fresh air an all) Nope. We got ended up with arms so red I cant even explain, we both looked like rudolph and cool sunglass tan to boot.
But obviously we were there for photographic research ;P so we spent out first sunset fooling around and getting some shots (after a swim in that amazing clear water - fair is fair)
Here is a few that I like so far

the wreck
all the cool shoes on the reef walk wall
above: my crazy feet covered in sand..
above - the use of slow slow shutter speeds & creative white balance temperatures
above: what could be more spectacular at the end of the day?
above: and had to chuck in the crazy one of me (picture by Sam McGrath) busy working at Heron Island

they are the most amazing pics Kell ... I've never been to Heron either - sadly I doubt many "locals" have.
You'll have to get in with GAPDL, as I'm sure these pics will make more "Gladstonites" want to head over for a weekend.
Well done xoxo
